Our Family Brain

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Our Family Brain is a private hub for your family and your family’s AI assistants. We collect as little as possible, use it only to run the service, and never sell it. Here’s exactly what that means.

What we collect

How we use it

We use your data for one purpose: operating the service for you. That means authenticating you, showing your family its content, enforcing the permissions your family configured, sending the sign-in and invitation emails you asked for, and keeping the service secure and running.

What we never do

Retention and deletion

We keep your data as long as your family uses the service. When you delete content — a message, a list, a file, a family — it’s deleted from our database. If you leave a family or delete your account, your personal data is removed with it, while content you created may remain visible to the family under the family’s name unless the family deletes it too. Backups may retain deleted data for a short retention window before aging out.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. That’s it — no tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no cross-site cookies. The cookie is HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite, and it expires when your session does.

Security

We protect your data with encrypted connections, passkey and email-link sign-in (no passwords to leak), per-family access controls, rate limiting, and audit logging of sensitive actions. No system is perfect — if you believe you’ve found a security issue, please tell us right away at hello@ourfamilybrain.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We’ll update the date above and make a reasonable effort to notify you of material changes.
